Patterned Tights - are they for you?

Patterned tights aren't all that easy to wear if you're anything other than slim and long legged, however there are some styles that will work for almost everyone. Having said that, I tend to go for the simplest solution of my favourite black opaques and the ones shown here would definitely not be for me.
M & S will always have a good range as we all know, but you can also find your next lace, spangly, fishnet, coloured or plaid pair at My Tights, who always have a great selection and offer a speedy service. Give them a try.

Having a love affair with purple.....

Doesn't it amaze you sometimes how online stores actually manage to put you off products because of their pics, and if you spot something in a store you fall in love immediately? - You would have thought online retailers would have learnt by now how to add that extra bit of appeal factor online, particularly with the interractive fitting rooms that are springing up everywhere.

One store did this to me today - I spotted a coat in a store window, loved the colour and the style and went to search for it online. Hey presto! It's practically unreconisable. Love it anyway and take it from me it's a winner, at least until the cold weather starts.

Oh yes, on the subject of those interractive changing rooms; yesterday I managed to layer a pair of jeans underneath a dress (which was very much a dress) with a denim jacket and a coat on top, not at this website and I'm not ready to tell. Not sure that was what was really intended. Question? Are we getting too clever for our own good? My advice? Get the pictures right first and the rest will follow.

Spotted at a high street store near you.......

If leopard is another fashion statement this autumn - and we'd appear to be headed that way, take a look at the ankle boots you'll find at Dune. They don't have the instantly recognisable red soles of Christian Louboutin's wondrous pair, nor the price tag of their skyscraper YSL sister but they rock total glamour at around an eighth of the price. Order yours now or they'll be gone.

The great thing about animal print, and leopard in particular, is that you can be sure that even if it's out next year (doubtful) it'll always come back into fashion. Love it or hate it, this season it's out in force.

If you just buy one thing this season........

then it has to be studded, and while I've totally fallen in love with Roberto Cavalli's studded silk georgette dress, a snip, surely, at £1480 I will simply have to cut back a bit (!) and go for something that a) I will wear often enough to make it worth whatever it costs and b) my bank manager won't murder me for. So, moving on swiftly past Marc Jacobs' lust-worthy Swarovski studded clutch I've found the perfect answer in by Malene Birger's fabulicious studded bangles, which I'll wear with aplomb and then won't feel too broken hearted when they're stolen by my fashion addict daughter, as they are bound to be.

Boden's Colourblock Dress is Back

Why am I not surprised that Boden has reinvented it's amazingly successful colourblock dress for autumn and that it's already selling out fast? The cleverest and even the most innovative fashion retailers will take a style that has been a bestseller and bring it out with tiny changes over and over again and it will keep on selling, season after season while new styles can languish on the rails.

Order yours now girls if you want it - again it won't be around for long.

Buy this now or it'll be gone....

Iconic brand Liberty of London is moving forward at a pace that we're all going to have a problem catching up with. With a fab new website, streets ahead of much of the competition, and their very own famous Liberty Print fabrics which, let's face it, have languished for years but are now making a major comeback they're ready to take over the world. This effort will undoubtably be helped as and when Liberty Print items appear in Target in the US - a reach we would all give anything for.

For now visit their website and snap up the new must-haves, they're selling out fast.

Butler and Wilson, Kenneth Jay Lane and more

Definitely one for the girls, just discovered this site where you can find Kenneth Jay Lane, CC Skye, Butler and Wilson and more. Loads of sites offer bits and pieces, and of course B & W's site has the whole range which you can order online but the other can be quite hard to find. Happy browsing. Wanted to show you one of the snake cuffs but seem to have a bit much of an animal theme going on at the moment so here you are!

Gap Clothing at ASOS

Well it had to happen sometime soon, the surprise, at least to me, was that Gap didn't try and go it alone as they have in the US, but have sensibly partnered with online fashion mammoth ASOS who are dipping their toes in the water with a very small part of the range consisting of Gap best sellers. Take a look and buy from here and hopefully the range will expand fast. The jeans and ts are of course the best and very well priced but there are some great fashion pieces as well.

Toy Watch review....

The Toy Watch collection is fun, sleek, clever and, if you choose the right one, as near to the real thing (that watch that I've been lusting after for quite a while now) as you can get without shelling out thousands of pounds. Seen on celebrity wrists the world over, you can browse and buy from an online store near you and have yours tomorrow. Go for one of the neon colours if you want to make a statement or black or white, to my mind those are definitely the best.

Steve Madden, from the US to UK no prob

I haven't, I have to confess, checked on the shipping charges but with daughter just having picked up a pair of these cute jewelled and studded flats that I'm already after (and they fit me too), I thought I'd check and now can let you know that Steve Madden from the US will ship to us in the UK. There are some on-trend styles I'm sure you're going to want to get your hands on - read, feet into - so it's well worth taking a look as the prices are good and with the pound going up at the moment you may be tempted. We were and we're probably going back for more so no surprises there then!

As seen at .........

Shopping earlier this week at Tysons Corner my daughter spotted this jacket and fell in love, still 9 shopping days to go before we return back across the pond so I suspect it'll be in her bag by then. I dont know why it is that almost everything looks more desirable here, it's not much less expensive now and stores such as Banana Republic and Abercrombie have already made it into London brick and mortar destinations, but boy, do they have a pull here? Yes they certainly do.
