Website Review - Habitat Home and all things Colourful, Fun and Modern

Last week I paid a visit to Habitat's head office, not having a clue what to expect. I'm always really happy when a household name ventures properly onto the World Wide Web (wondering why the heck they haven't done so sooner), but as I'm a total online addict I had lost touch with what to expect.

From the fab picture of Bjorn Borg in the entrance hall, although I couldn't recognise him at first, to the brick walls and black furniture you're drawn into the accessible, modern, colourful, interesting (despite the black chests) fast moving world that is Habitat.

What I really like about this website is that every single product, and every single picture, totally identifies the brand that was created by Sir Terence Conran in 1964 - and boy, what a long time ago that seems. From the 'young moderns' that he was designing for then to the (ahem) older and maybe not so 'moderns' of today who still remember the excitement of going into a sparkling, bright, beautifully arranged Habitat store, this coming of age online is a real success story. Because they've got it right.

Have a look around and you'll find everything you expect, from bright red cooking utensils and pots, to exceptionally well priced but great quality rugs, cushions and throws, to wonderful things for kids. This is a treasure trove for gifts, home accessories, a complete new colour scheme or just adding a pop of colour to brighten up a room. And all guilt free, of course, because the prices for everything are absolutely what you'd expect them to be - very, very good.

Habitat are offering 10% off online orders, plus free delivery when you spend over £250 and free returns on online home accessories. Just quote voucher code A9SG1711 at checkout.
Offer ends December 10th.

We've just launched the new Gift Guide at thesiteguide.com - we love it - take a look round and let us know what you think.
