How to Speed up your Winter Beauty Routine and be out of the Door in 5

Most of us don’t have a great deal of time in the morning and need to be out of the door fast.  I’ve seen people doing their makeup on the train - hopefully not in the car - and thought ‘just 5 minutes, it only needs to take 5’ and for that you can do your beauty routine as well, as we all know that winter, with it’s central heating and chilly weather can wreak havoc on anyone’s skin.

Temple Spa Eye Truffle does it all, from smoothing, brightening, firming and moisturising, add instant radiance into the mix and you have my new favourite do it all eye serum/cream.  You only need a little so this pot will go a long way.

I’ve included two serums so you can either layer them or use separately.  Caudalie Vinoperfect is a radiance enhancing face serum that works over time on dark spots - and it really does work.

Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 serum is one of my all time favourites, yes it’s a little pricey but a little does go a long way and it’s marvellous for added hydration.

Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream is one of those double duty moisturisers that not only provides hydration but also protection against the sun, and let’s be clear here, you need SPF protection all the year round.

Laura Mercier does some of the best primers around, I love her Radiance Primer, it’s smooth and unscented and allowed your makeup to last longer.  She also does a Primer with SPF 30 so if your moisturiser doesn’t give you the sun protection you need try that.

I started trying Daniel Sandler’s radiance - that word again - foundation and concealer in one and I love it.  It comes in many easy to choose skin flattering shades and having the concealer in the lid makes life so much easier, not to mention faster.

Then a swipe of Bare Minerals Bare Pro Powder Foundation - a finish to your basic makeup that lasts and lasts.  This of course needs to be applied with a brush.

For days and times when you’re in a hurry (most of them) Urban Decay’s Naked Flush Palette is marvellous, swipe right across or use the bronze/blush/highlighter separately, it’s totally up to you.

My favourite eye liner - and I’m not including eye shadow in this fast flawless face finish is by Stila.  Stila Smudge Stick is the only one I’ve found that seriously does last all day, it’s reasonably priced and comes in lots of deep and lovely shades.  It is seriously the best eye pencil I’ve found.

Don’t forget your eyebrows…. Nars Eyebrow Perfector makes short work of giving you the depth and shape you want.  This is a great eyebrow pencil for an essential part of your makeup routine.

Finally mascara.  Ditch the old ones in your makeup bag and try Laura Mercier’s long lash mascara, it’s brilliant and gives you lusciously long lashes.

And finally Bare Minerals Gen Nude Lipstick.  This is a seriously moisturising lipstick that lasts, unlike so many, and comes in a gorgeous choice of shades from red to nude.  It’s well worth giving a try
