Alexander Wang and Princess Tam Tam Join Uniqlo Heattech - New Skinny Layers to Beat the Freeze
I have for a long time been a huge fan – not to say investor in – Uniqlo Heattech, in fact I’m wearing some right now. Heattech is Uniqlo’s unbeatable and unstoppable collection of lightweight tops, socks, leggings and accessories all designed to regulate your temperature and keep you warm.
You can wear Heattech in layers from original Heattech (think skinny layers) to Ultra Warm, leggings which look like trousers, and fleece. And it all works. As someone who lives in a frequently freezing converted barn, I know these things.
Now Heattech has gone urban with a collection by American designer Alexander Wang, which seems a perfect fit. Heattech at it’s best. Minimalist, neutral colours and modern designs you won’t want to take off. This collection launches on November 8th, so you can browse right now but you can’t order. I suggest if you’re interested you mark it in your diary. There’s a small range for men as well.
On to something completely different – Princess Tam Tam is a Parisian brand offering sexy lingerie, swimwear and sporty loungewear. Uniqlo have collaborated in a collection that is relaxed and feminine, then translated this into finely ribbed Heattech pieces edged in lace. Grey, black and wine are the colours. If you like these, snap them up. They’re form fitting as with all the Heattech items and also soft and warm with a touch of luxury.
This is the basic range – I particularly like the turtle neck top and always buy a size down so that the neck really fits. You can wear these under anything.
So this season there are more than ever gloriously warm essentials to choose from at Uniqlo and whatever your personality, whether you want warm layers for walking the dog, urban innerwear you can wear as athleisure outerwear or sexy lace peeking underneath your jacket you have the choice. I have found that getting near to the end of the season the best selling colours and styles don’t hang around. So move quickly if you see something you like…….
