It used to be that what was left on the rails were the things that people didn’t like, such as nasty colours and strange designs, (literally) but the joy of being able to browse online for any kind of fashion is that not only do you see the products at their best, and don’t have to grope through the rails and shelves, but you can also see immediately what’s available in your size.
In a lot of ways it’s even better with sportswear, as the competition to sell you that pair of Nike leggings or Under Armour t-shirt is so high, the prices can only go in your favour.
This is sportswear addict bargain hunter heaven. My favourite places to browse, and where they have the best choice at surprisingly good prices are Superdry (excellent hoodies and sportswear in general), Wiggle, (Under Armour and Skins are just two of the brands on offer) Net-a-Porter (all the designer/mainline sports brands and some very good prices) and John Lewis (all the pieces you need right now from your favourite brands).
If you’re sensible you’ll go through your sportswear collection and note those items that need replacing – if you’re not you’ll go online immediately and allow yourself to be seduced. But the joy is that it’s so much harder to buy sportswear you won’t wear than it is a fashion item – sportswear being made up of essentials such as hooded jackets, running/gym tights and t-shirts all of which you ‘need’.
Don’t hold back, the best pieces are steaming out of the door…….
