White jeans work best when it’s summer (naturally) and whether you want them for city or resort they’re an essential staple provided you get the right shape.
Waistline – If you have a curvy body and any type of stomach you really want a pair that does its best to streamline that area, which basically means jeans with a high rise and a certain amount of stretch. Then your white jeans will hold you in, leave nothing hanging over the top and work with everything. Muffin tops no thanks.
Leg – my preference for white jeans in summer is an ankle length skinny jean, which you can, if you want, turn up. Cropped jeans can have a tendency to shorten your legs unless they’re very skinny, so if you’re tall that’s fine, and if you’re short it’s the last thing you want. Jeans that you can turn up give you the choice.
Stretch – I cant think of a pair of jeans that doesn’t have stretch in it, but if you’re curvy look for a minimum of 2% elastane to give you the best fit.
See Through?? Make sure when you’re making your final decision that you know if your white jeans are see-through. That you can definitely do without……
White jeans can be your dressed up or down option for the summer – they work with everything from heels to flats and sneakers, go all white with a bright pop of colour in one accessory (shoes – bag – scarf) for effect or keep it neutral, grey t-shirt, black bag, sneakers.
If you keep it simple you can accessories your white jeans with gold, leopard print (just a single accessory) and a sleek little jacket. This season’s Boho tops look simple and modern with a pair of white skinny jeans and sandals.
One piece of advice. Don’t try and travel in them unless you have more than one pair with you. Therein lies disaster.
