Firstly what exactly is a BB Cream? Bearing in mind some BB creams are described as tinted moisturizers, or primers, or BB creams, or sunscreen, it can be hard to sort out what exactly you’re getting.
A true BB Cream is designed to do it all, to hydrate, prime, protect (don’t buy one without SPF) and offer a light coverage that is perfect for summer. Then there are added benefits of radiance and concealing properties.
The most expensive, but also unbeatable in my opinion is Trish McEvoy’s Beauty Balm, which happily I was given at Christmas. This helpfully tells you exactly what it’s designed to do, to ‘Prime, Brighten, Even, Hydrate, Control Oil, Retexturize and Protect’. It comes in several lightweight shades. At £65 it may sound expensive but bearing in mind you’re going to be using it to replace so many other products - and it comes in quite a large tube - it’s worth every penny.
Most of these BB Creams have sunscreen of SPF 30+ so they really do do everything.
For cutting your getting out of the door makeup routine in half these products are the real deal……
