With ‘glow’ being the go-to word in beauty products right now – think radiant, fresh, uplifted (rather than shiny and glittery) this is the time to think about your beauty routine and how to add that extra, subtle but ‘happy’ glow.
Having said that there are so many skincare products out there it can be hard to make your way through the jungle and find the best products that offer a radiant complexion for those who are short of time, and isn’t that most of us?
Here are my 10 favourites – products that will all contribute to your looking just that little bit better, not to mention those that are great for your skin, and they’re all applied in a flash.
Starskin Beauty 7 Second Morning Mask Pads
I have to say I was dubious about these so start with – mask and exfoliate on one side, serum on the other, but for anyone who is time poor and wants to start the day with smooth and refreshed skin these will become your best friends.
Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum
I really love this serum, I’m on my third bottle so I must do. It’s excellent for smoothing out your complexion and fading dark spots over time. This serum is oil free and is suitable for all skin types.
Dr Sebagh Eye Primer Lift
This is another product I’ve bought over and over again. Dr Sebagh Eye Primer Lift instantly lifts and tightens your eye area – you can feel it working immediately you apply it. It also contains Hyaluronic Acid to stimulate collagen and fight signs of aging over time. This is a perfect product for mornings after a late night or when you want a quick fix before you go out.
Origins Ginzing Eye Cream
This little orange pot of eye cream is specially designed to instantly brighten and de-puff your eye area. It’s the perfect answer to tired eyes in the morning – or any time, for that matter. It contains caffeine from coffee beans and Panax Ginseng among other ingredients and it really does refresh your eye area.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream
Charlotte Tilbury’s famous moisturiser contains Hyaluronic Acid to plump up the skin and will instantly rehydrate dull and tired skin. Not only that but there’s the added benefit of SPF15 sun protection. This is quite a big pot which will last for ages.
Nars Radiance Primer SPF 35
With the assumption that primers will make your foundation last longer these have become an essential part of our makeup routine – at least for many of us. There are so many primers on the market but few that offer both makeup extending benefits, increased radiance and SPF. I always love multitasking makeup so this is one of my favourites.
If you happen to be in the US you could invest in a tube of Shiseido’s excellent Glow Enhancing Primer SPF15 which I also seriously like. You’ll find it in all the major stores such as Macy’s and Nordstrom.
Daniel Sandler Invisible Radiance Foundation and Concealer
I discovered this foundation/concealer last year and I really like it, it’s not too heavy but it gives an easily buildable dewy coverage. The concealer is excellent as well.
Estee Lauder Perfectionist Powder Highlight Duo
This powder and highlight combo can be used as separate items in your daily routine or swirl your brush around and give your whole face a subtle glow. I love the texture and soft coverage of Estee Lauder’s face powders and the addition of a highlight gives a whole new dimension.
Bobbi Brown Brightening Brick in TawnyI’ve specified the colour here because unless you have a really dark complexion this is the one that will suit most people. In shades of soft bronze and pale to mid pink plus highlighters this offers a lovely subtle glow without being too obvious.
Clarins Catch Light Face Stick HighlighterThere are plenty of face stick highlighters out there, and my other favourite is Clinique’s Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlighter, however this new addition to the Clarins’ light enhancing family is so dinky it’ll fit in my handbag and give me that extra light any time I need it. What’s not to love.
You can add any or all of these to your beauty routine and you’ll speedily see the difference, and who doesn’t want that healthy glow at this time of year? I know I do. Expect your uplifted look to be noticed…..
