Whatever the temperature, keeping lips hydrated is a challenge, and whether it’s freezing cold, windy or sunny (particularly close to the water) a really good lip balm needs to always be to hand.
There are, of course, hundreds of lip balms to choose from, from relatively inexpensive (but very good) such as Burts Bees, to all time all year round favourite Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Lip Balm to my current favourite, Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector.
A lip balm, to me, has to be lipstick shaped so that I can take it anywhere, be applied just like a lipstick with no finger involved, have no or almost no fragrance and either no colour or something subtle. And it needs to do just what it says on the tin – just as these do.
The joy of a really good lip balm is that you can wear them on their own or with your own lip colour and ensure smooth, moisturised lips at all times.
