I really really hate to be cold, and the two things I depend on - other than my trusty down puffer coat when it’s icy outside - are Fitflop’s Mukluk Suede warm lined boots
Fitflop’s Mukluk short boot is lined in wool shearling, has a cuff that you can fold down (so they look more like slippers) or turn up, and wear anywhere, any time. They also have wonderful underfoot cushioning and a slip resistant rubber sole. Having worn these several winters long I can promise you they’re the best for warm feet and you can go outdoors in them as well.
On many websites they’re still full priced or just slightly reduced, the best prices are to be found on Fitflop’s own website and also at Amazon. Some colours are half price, others about 35% off and may go down or not.
On to my next go to favourite item of clothing – which I’m wearing now – to keep you warm when an ordinary sweater or fleece jacket won’t do. I’m well aware that may think of these as less than chic but because I live in a barn – literally – with never enough heating, I live in these at home and when taking out the dogs. And they are, as O’Neill say ‘like wearing a hug’.
To me these are indispensable jackets for anyone who lives in the country – not for going out to lunch in possibly? But if you want to feel superior because you’re warmer than anyone else you know you could…….
This sherpa ‘superfleece’ lined fleece hoodie by O’Neill is by far the nicest I’ve found and it has a slim fit, so it doesn’t make you look chubby (trust me on this) as some of them do. The sherpa lining is really soft and warm and the jacket long enough to be flattering and cover the bits you want it to. The sherpa lined hood has a faux fur edging and it’s good enough to wear anywhere casual. If you’re a size 12 take a M.
You can find the O’Neill San Fran Superfleece Hoodie at it’s original price £89 in some places, but it’s reduced at O’Neill, and available in most colours and sizes. Also find it at good prices at Surf Shop Anne’s Cottage and the red only at Surfdome. Some sizes and colours have sold out so you’ll need to get in there quickly if you want one of these.
For those who don’t like wearing logos you’ll find it here at Freestyle Extreme. This page is part of my Bargain Hunter section
