The nude lipstick is having a moment, so I'm happy I am not a red lipstick kind of girl – too bright, too much of a statement – but I’m never to be found with fewer than at least two nude lipsticks in my bag. To me a nude lipstick is always flattering whatever the time of day, whatever you’re doing, and there are so many shades that whether you’re looking for shine, shimmer or sheer they’re not hard to find.
Every cosmetic brand has several nude lipsticks in their collection – this is a classic after all - but they can still be so different from a peachy warm nude to a cooler pink nude and your skin tone will also affect how much each one suits you. My favourites are always those without any scent, a creamy texture, a hint of shimmer and a warm tone.
As every nude lipstick I’ve fallen for has managed to get itself discontinued over time I’m always on the hunt for the next best thing.
Current favourites are Estee Lauder’s Pure Colour Lipstick in Tiger Eye, MAC lipstick in Midimauve and Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Colour in Almost Bare. When you find one you love make sure you buy more than one, it’s bound to get discontinued sometime soon…..
