Having discovered on a visit to Nordstrom last week that Bobbi Brown and most other US brands, is now less expensive in the UK than the US due to our dear exchange rate this means that stocking up on cosmetics here isn’t nearly so much fun, unless you find something you actually can’t buy in the UK. More about that later.
So to add a little shimmer to your current routine you can happily order the following, and then take it with you on your next visit to the US. Incidentally there are some products that you may well want to get here as they’re not available UK side, particularly if you’re a makeup addict like me, but these in particular are worth picking up now at home.
Bobbi Brown Nude Finish Illuminating Powder is perfect for summer if you don’t want to look over shimmery and shiny and it comes in lots of different shades from very light to Golden (bronze shimmer) and Rich which I think is overly dark. It imparts a subtle shimmer using light reflective powders and you can use as much or as little as you want.
This doesn’t come with a brush or pad unfortunately so I suggest you hop over to Amazon and buy Japonesque’s retractable powder brush which is great for travelling as well as at home and is reasonably priced.
At Heathrow I discovered Bobbi Brown’s new Nourishing Lip Colour in gorgeous Beige Gold. Unsurprisingly lots of places are selling out and even more unsurprisingly the colours shown online are horrific, so here’s mine. I love the creamy consistency, the lack of smell or taste and the fact that it’s in one of my all time favourite shades, a shimmery nude. Expect to be admired.
And finally suddenly having a yen for a pale gold nail polish – as you do – I trawled through what was on offer and came down firmly on Jessica Nails Champagne Bubbles. Not too glittery or shimmery, or hard looking, this is the perfect foil to those gold or black sandals that work so well on summer travels. You can order Jessica Champagne Bubbles Nail Polish from John Lewis or from Amazon. The Amazon colour is much much closer to the real thing.
