Have your Oats for Breakfast - as Long as they're Gluten Free

Bakery on Main Instant Gluten Free OatsI don’t normally write about what I eat for breakfast but having discovered instant gluten free oats in the US – little ready measured packets to which you just add hot water (unless you like yours with cream and sugar etc….) and having found them in the UK I thought I’d pass it along just how good these are.

Oats are good for you in lots of different ways – read Why Oats are Good for You from The Guardian – and having switched from eggs to oats recently for breakfast I don’t think I could go back. 

Particularly for travelling the little packets by Bakery on Main are brilliant, just tip them into a bowl, pour on very hot/boiling water and stir.  Then you can add, as I do, a few hazelnuts and Montmorency Dried Tart Cherries, or the aforesaid cream/milk and sugar.  I packed my hazelnuts and cherries in a double small zip topped clear bag.

If all this sounds like rather a lot of organisation think of it this way.  If, like me, you want to steer clear of all the high carb breakfast stuff, stay on a reasonably healthy diet whilst travelling – in some ways at least – and save money on breakfast for the wine at dinner this is a perfect answer.
