I’m not going to get into the ‘diamonds on Valentine’s Day’ issue. There will be many diamonds bought as gifts and for more serious matters. Enough said.
I do think that you should make haste and book a table somewhere if you’re thinking of taking her out – many places will be booked up already. There’s nothing like a romantic dinner at home, of course, as long as you can cook, and don’t expect her to put on the Marigolds afterwards. So you’ll be doing the clearing up too….

Where gifts are concerned don’t leave it to the last minute, either, and if you want to give a flirty little something for goodness sake get the sizing right. Delve into the lingerie drawer or check the closet if you’re not sure, and if you’re in the slightest bit unsure when buying….don’t. The ‘you can always exchange it’ idea just doesn’t work here. Oh and if buying lingerie or nightwear do not (hear that?) buy something you will like, buy something you know that she will love. Period.

Valentines Day gifts have to be personal, beautifully packaged and aimed directly at the recipient. Not just a ‘gift’ but something special, no matter how expensive or not. So impersonal accessories or food or gadgets etc just won’t do. Give her something delicious, fragrant, flirty and/or simply gorgeous and you’ll be getting it right.
