Men can be quite difficult to buy gifts for. You can take the easy route and go for a scarf/socks/wallet/shower gel. Or you can put a bit more analysis into it and be far more likely to get it right. Having been asked if I can ‘take it back’ a few times in the past, or seeing a look that was less than enthusiastic – I know how much more fun it is to surprise someone with something they’ll find fun, useful, interesting and more or less just perfect for them.
In many ways men who are very definite about their interests, likes and dislikes, are much easier to choose for then those who are a little bit less so. But it does all boil down to the same thing. Most men are tricky to buy for. Much more so than women.
Just a word or two. Don’t buy something because you like it yourself. Choose a gift that is as right for him as you can based on what you know.
On the whole I don’t go for vouchers or gift cards, but knowing exactly how picky most male fitness fanatics are when it comes to buying things like trainers – my son for example – I decided that you couldn’t go far long with a gift card from Nike so he could choose his own. Over to you.
