I have to confess to being a bit of a fair weather walker on the one hand, and intensely disliking being limited by the weather on the other. In any case, living in the country with three demanding dogs doesn’t leave much room for choice.
So I’m always on the lookout for the jacket that will cope with any weather, however cold, windy or wet, and these are the 10 I’ve found that seriously do the business while staying flattering and sporty at the same time.
Brand of choice for this particular winter is very definitely Superdry. You may consider it as a ‘cult’ young brand but the quality of everything I’ve tried is really excellent. Shapes are flattering and modern, details include double zips and fleece linings and there are always plenty of pockets. Not only that but there’s a good range of prices as well.
What I’m always looking for is something that’s flexible enough to move with me, with a flattering, preferably waisted (but not belted) style, a hood and a warm lining. Some of these are jackets have zip-out linings and others don’t, but they’ll all do the business when the chill sets in….
