As ever, the best of the tote bags at a reasonable ‘mid designer’ price are by DKNY or Michael Michael Kors. The difference this season is that DKNY has added to the collection so you really do have to choose between the two, and as every other person seems to be carrying Michael Kors these days (and I’m frequently one of them) you might like to do something a little different.
This season’s colour is without a doubt burgundy - call it dark red, beet or merlot as you please. And just about every shape of bag comes in this rich autumnal colour. You may love it because it just looks so fresh - if fresh and burgundy aren’t an oxymoron - it is very much an autumn/winter colour. Drawbacks are you may not want to carry your new burgundy arm candy when it warms up, and it won’t go with everything, but it’s rich, deep, gorgeous and pretty well irresistible.
A tote bag is the perfect shopping/travel companion as it will hold so much, including your iPad and makeup bag. The problem, frequently is finding things, the most needed of which always seem to work their way to the bottom.
This season I really thought that there must be another designer to bring in other than just Michael Kors and DKNY, but other than a bag here and a tote there there’s no one to rival these two if you don’t want to pay a whopping designer price and carry something that’s instantly recognisable. These are true value for money, beautifully designed and with embellishment such as chain handles and scarves.
