If you have a little time to spare, something very special to celebrate or you just want complete and luxurious relaxation vacation then consider visiting this gorgeous hotel and restaurant just north of Napa in California, the Auberge du Soleil.
You’re likely to think you’re in Provence after a very short while, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, with steep steps to get anywhere (restaurant, spa, gym or your room) incredible service, beautiful rooms and terraces and the fresh, warm, sunny weather. Not to mention the food.
To get here from Europe you need to fly to San Francisco from where it’s a reasonably short drive up through the wine country. The same from anywhere in the US. So unless you’re lucky enough to live somewhere near this is not a place to visit on a whim. Lucky enough to have been invited by friends to celebrate a special birthday I can only say that I very much hope to return.
