Red is not always the easiest colour to wear, and wearing a red dress says something about confidence and being happy to be noticed so don’t wear red unless you’re in the mood.
Having said I love a red dress in summer, in the right tone it can look chic however light or dark your skin tone. A mid red, not too warm and definitely not too cool works for most people.
The best red dresses in terms of a flattering fit always sell out very fast, so if you fall in love with something best not hang about. Also many of these dresses are on sale.
I’ve not included any very inexpensive brands here because a cheap red fabric will always look just that, many of these are mid priced. The one to really snap up is Diane von Furstenberg’s Bevina dress which is half price here and still full price on many other fashion sites.
