The new eye palettes make perfect beauty treats for spring. Usually offering a range of colours from light to deep and shimmer to matte, these are what you want to carry around with you for quick touch-ups or day-to-evening updates.
My favourite double duty eye palettes – in other words those you can use both at home and away the most easily, are the ones that have brushes integral to the set, otherwise you need to carry a few mini brushes in your makeup bag.
At the top you have the gorgeously painterly eye palette by Hourglass which comes in no less than seven colourways. Yes you need to have brushes with you, but who wouldn’t want to show this one off?
All of these will help create deliciously smoky eyes, and if you’re not sure how to go about it, take a look at Lisa Eldridge’s excellent smoky eye tutorial. Even if you think you’ve got it down to a fine art this is worth looking at.
Finally if you need a small travel mini makeup brush set for your bag this one is seriously good – having bought it in the US you can find it here at Amazon and the brushes, unlike many inexpensive brush sets, are good quality, the perfect size and should last you a while. By Japonesque, the set also comes in it’s own mini case and weighs practically nothing. Grab it while you can.
If you happen to be in the US you’ll find the very same at CVS, and also many excellent travel brush sets at Sephora who will ship to the UK.
