Until this year I used to put Mint Velvet into the ‘not for me’ category. The shapes were frequently quite difficult for a curvy person, too edgy and try though I might as I loved the appeal, nothing really worked.
Fortunately the collection has now grown enormously to encompass not just the slim, young, ‘out for coffee then picking up the kids from school’ mum, but everyone and anyone who loves modern not unreasonably priced separates that stand out from the crowd, that make you feel good, and that you can wear anywhere.
There are still pieces that to me are difficult. The beautifully cut steel grey waterfall knit with a woven panel in the back. The summer ‘rain’ jacket with no hood. The cropped bodice dress. But then they weren’t designed with me in mind. Having said that, a browse through this fast growing collection will quickly bring you to the prettiest pin tucked top, wonderfully stretchy and wearable ‘Seattle’ skinny jeans, and the detailed steel and contrast grey parka you’ll take with you everywhere.
There are dresses you could wear to weddings or for resort evenings, tops that go from casual to dressy depending on what you wear them with, perfect jeans and seriously good coats and jackets. This is a collection well worth browsing and keeping an eye on.
