With spring somewhere around the corner - we hope - one trend that everyone can embrace, curvy or otherwise, is the boho blouse.
Here in the US where it can be warm one day and freezing the next, notably in Dallas, I’ve noticed the rapidly increasing choice of this easy to wear piece by brands that haven’t yet made it across the pond, such as Chelsea & Violet, American Rag and Lucky Brand. Ralph Lauren Denim and Supply, thankfully, have, although even they give it different names and don’t have the full collection online.
Perfect with jeans or slim pants and flats or heels, or shorts and flats in the summer or on holiday, this is an addition to your wardrobe you should get ready to fall in love with. But try searching for the term ‘peasant blouse’ or 'boho blouse' in the UK and you’ll have a problem - sometimes called a peasant top, sometimes just a printed blouse, the description badly needs sorting out.
Most of these blouses have sleeves, a drawstring scoop neck or split neck with ties and many have elastication or a tie around the hem - you’ll either love this detail or not. I prefer them without. The best are not so ‘blousy’ that they make you look shapeless, and some have shirring details to front and or back.
This is an all size all figure top although of course as with everything they’ll suit some better than others, and some will emphasise the very curvy figure. Either way they’re out there now, and the collections will increase, both by designers and high street, keep your eyes open for the perfect one for you.
