Bring on the Brights: The New Season’s Totes by Michael Michael Kors, Aspinal, Armani Jeans and More

You may still be thinking about snow boots and down coats, but the fashion stores are all full of new life and bright colour, and if you’ve been happily carrying around your favourite black tote all winter and you’re even remotely thinking of updating it with another in…, then it’s time to think again.  And there’s never a better time than right now.

Never has there been such a choice of brightly coloured tote bags to choose from, and not just from all time favourite, Michael Michael Kors (he who brought the accessibly priced ‘designer” tote to the masses), but Lauren Ralph Lauren, Armani Jeans, Aspinal and DKNY have all jumped on the bandwagon this year which can mean only one thing….it’s time you did too.

The tote is everyone’s favourite everything handbag, it can be filled up with enough to take you away for a weekend or just a few everyday necessities.  Double as a gym bag, work excellently for shopping and lose your phone and lipstick in an instant, unless you buy one with many compartments.

But the whole point is that it doesn’t have to have that extra pocket for phone, bits and pieces.  If you cleverly stash them yourself you can slip from one bag to another in a few seconds.  And some even have separate detachable pouches which work as wallets or evening purses.  Marc by Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Michael Michael Kors and Ted Baker have all embraced this trend.  And don’t even let me start on the tote as a travel companion.  I don’t think there’s anything better.

Back to brights, snap up one of these now, I doubt they’re going to be hanging around for very long, even though it may be a while before the sun comes out.
