Beauty Reviews - How to Get Smooth Skin Fast

For those who, like me, don’t have the time nor the wherewithal to spend hours at the salon each week being buffed and polished in readiness for baring all - well not quite -  in the warm weather or on holiday the answer  has to be to do it at home.

It only takes a few minutes however often you want to add these into your beauty routine, and whether you want to know how to get smooth skin on your face or your body the rules are basically the same, if you don’t get going right now you’ll be too late to achieve the results you’re after in time for the sunshine; smooth gleaming arms and pins and a soft clear plumped up and moisturised face.

And the best thing about all of it is, apart from the fact that you’re not spending time and paying someone else to do it for you, that these products don’t cost the earth, are easy to use and work fast, many of them double duty.

How to get Smooth Skin on your Face - the basics are great cleansing and moisturising before you do anything else.  Most people don’t realise that to really cleanse your face you have to go the extra mile, a speedy wipe off the makeup won’t do, you need to go over again.  And moisturising day and night is essential.  As you’re really just spending a minute or two on this routine there’s no excuse to skip this part, and if you do you won’t get the best results from what you do next.

Here are my favourite facial scrubs, polishes, peels and masks - all tried and tested: Some are brands you’ll probably know very well, others not so well, and there’s a surprising range of prices.

Most brands offer masks, peels and scrubs.  You’ll almost (note that) always pay more for the major well known brands, and you don’t have to, you can get really excellent results from less expensive brands such as Nuxe and Avene.  Then there are the skincare specialists such as  Filorga (which I recently discovered in France and is available from Marks and Spencer’s burgeoning beauty department), and US cult brand Skinceuticals from Zest Beauty

How to get smooth skin on your body:  This is one that many leave out of their daily routine but the results, bearing in mind you can add this to your beauty routine in just a few seconds in bath or shower, are well worth it.  Whether you just want to be able to bare smooth legs and arms in your shorts, or include this year round, a simple scrub and moisturise make an incredible difference to skin that’s been dried out by air conditioning, central heating or lack of attention.

If you like a beautifully scented scrub try the Trish McEvoy for a bit of luxury, and Sanctuary Spa which is incredibly good value and also has a lovely fresh scent.  For smoothing without scent Clinique’s Sparkle Skin Exfoliating Cream and Nuxe will give you very good results.  Get into the habit of polishing your skin every day or at least three times a week and you’ll have gorgeously glowing skin in no time at all.
