Product Reviews; Hi-Tec Snow Boots – Warm, Waterproof and Perfect for Walking the Dog.

Hi Tec Snow Boots ZermattHere’s a pair of snow/winter boots that do the lot.  By Hi-Tec, who don’t play at cold weather walking, the Hi-Tec Zermatt snow boot warm, totally waterproof, has a good leg height and they’ll take you from snow to walking the dogs in wet fields and on out to the stores.

I’m currently sitting at my desk in mine (and did I forget to mention the cashmere fingerless gloves, fleece and shearling coat I also have about my person) but then I live in a barn with wood or stone floors so for those who have carpet, take them off when you come in and slip into something less weather-worthy.  You’ll have a job getting me out of these.Hi Tec Snow Boots Harmony Cosy

I looked for quite a while to find these – Hi-Tec Zermatt, and wouldn’t you know it, they’re last year’s model, however most sizes are available somewhere online right now, discounted.  Check out Amazon, New Forest Footwear, Daleswear and Shop Outdoors and get your hands on a pair as soon as possible.  Available in black, dark chocolate and honey, don’t worry that they look quite embellished in the pictures – these boots are made for winter walking and look very good as well.

This year’s model is the Hi-Tec Harmony Cosy, which isn’t as rugged (and although it is being discounted, not by quite so much) however it is a very good alternative if you can’t get your hands on a pair of Zermatts.  It has a zip, by the way, so don’t be put off by the laces.

Sheepskin Insoles

I don’t wear wellies, waterproof they may be, but cold also and you have to take them off the minute you come indoors.  Plus going to the shops in wellies?  I don’t think so.  Or not for me, anyway.  However, these sheepskin insoles are seriously soft and warm and yes you can wear them in your wellies, or your snow boots, or any other type of boot.

And yes I have them inside my Hi Tec Zermatt snow boots right now.  Obviously.
