Desigual - Wearable Art and the Perfect Winter Wedding Coat

Yesterday I went to a wedding and wore a Desigual coat I had bought a while ago and had not yet worn, over a little black dress as it was a ‘day to evening’ wedding.  Barcelona based Desigual designs coats (and other clothing, particularly colourful dresses) that are based on colour rich unique designs some of which are over the top (to me) and others which are glamorous, flattering and wearable.  You’re either a Desigual person or you’re not although some prints are quite subtle.

My coat took me from a 2.30 wedding and right on into the evening with ease.  It’s black and grey on a pale grey background, in quite heavy fabric and beautifully lined in red satin and with different coloured jewelled buttons.  All Desigual coats have character - forget your standard black or leopard print coat - these coats speak for themselves.  Many are almost wearable art and even the black will have a design woven into the fabric.

Desigual also designs some extremely different dresses and these are rapidly becoming best sellers.  From their partnerships with Christian Lacroix and Cirque du Soleil the prints have sometimes been too far ‘out there’ for some, however it’s well worth considering swapping your DvF for a little Desigual once in a while to put something with a statement into your wardrobe.

The styles are sometimes fitted, frequently flatteringly fit and flare and sometimes simple jersey sheaths.  Always printed and always with a bit of fun and the Desigual logo……somewhere.

The best selection of Desigual is to be found at Desigual’s own website, Zalando and House of Fraser so it’s well worth browsing all three as you’ll sometimes find discounts on one site and not another as well as the size you’re looking for.
