The Jumper Dress From M Missoni to Mango - 20 Favourites.

If like me you’re a converted dress wearer the jumper or knit dress will be a wardrobe essential at any time of year.

The right one can look sexy, flattering and you’ll wear it over and over again.  The wrong jumper dress will put on display everything you want to hide and runs the risk of looking frumpy. Instantly.  So it’s essential to get the style right, particularly if you have curves, and choosing the right style can be a minefield.

The choice is enormous from designer to high street with all shapes and sizes and different sleeve lengths from long sleeved to sleeveless.  Some - wide striped or bodycon will be harder to wear than others, and knits can be impossible to wear if you’re trying to hide lumps and bumps.  They can be made of cheap thread and may make you feel like a boiled sweet after an hour or so, they may cling to those places you would rather they didn’t and to top it all they’re very hard to alter, so if the one you fall in love with is the wrong length you run the risk of looking like a frump, whatever boots or heels you pair them with.

Having said that a flattering jumper dress with a great pair of boots or high heels can be your best friend any time it's cool outside.  These are my favourite 20 of the moment.

Things to watch out for:  High necks (which may make you over warm), overly chunky knits and tight knit dresses with plain fronts if you’re very curvy (patterns are better….).  Also overly roomy knit dresses which particularly if you’re short can make you look as if you’re trying to hide something.

Offering some level of camouflage if you need it are well placed stripes, all over prints, flightly flared skirts and above the waist designs.  Take your pick - there are certainly enough to choose from………
