You can spend as much as a designer bag on a scarf or you can pick up something chic and wearable for a song. Scarves follow through on the trends for each season (think plaid, houndstooth, floral or leopard) and can bring something simple into this season in a flash.
At this time of year the stores are full of scarves, and having trawled HoF yesterday I can tell you that there were those that immediately ‘spoke’ to me as in ‘buy me now’ and those I really didn’t even focus on, which said nothing at all. The choice is wide so take advantage of what’s on offer and let your scarf say something.
Scarves should speak, apart from keeping you warm and how you wear them (which says a lot in itself). They should add a little je ne sais quoi to what you put on that morning, add colour and say that although you may not be wearing leopard print from head to foot, or florals etc (and please don’t with either) you’re marking the trends for the season in an understated way.
The beauty of buying a new scarf is that you really can get more for less and brands such as Mint Velvet and Zara will always have something tempting, modern and that won’t break the bank. Or you can splurge and invest in an instantly recognisable accessory that will last you for years and give pleasure over and over again.
