You can buy accessories in Paris at so many stores - Printemps, Galleries Lafayette and every famous name store you can think of. However with the exchange rate where it is right now and shopping in Paris at a real premium unless you really want to splash out, discovering something off the beaten track, that offers accessories - think scarves, bags and particularly statement jewellery - that you won’t find anywhere else, and at affordable prices, is a serious find. Who doesn’t want to go shopping in Paris?
Lullabi, also known as Cocktails (which is on the store front), nestles between two branches of Hollington (more later) on the Rue Racine. Take the metro to Odeon, walk past the Museum de Medecin and within five minutes you’ll be there. The windows are full of jewellery, colourful scarves and modern shopping bags and particularly where the jewellery is concerned there’s a huge collection of pieces reminiscent of some well known brands but all made in France and Belgium by small jewellery companies, many using Swarovski stones.
This is the kind of accessory store where when you go in there’s so much to see you can’t take it all in - scarves in summer florals and modern neutrals, some in cotton, some not and most under 25Euros, earrings, necklaces and bracelets using every colour stone possible and both modern and traditional designs, and sequin strapped shoppers and evening bags. Heaven for any accessory magpie. Some of the jewellery uses silver and stones including topaz and marcasite so there’s a wide range of prices.
There is a website but there’s so little on it it’s really not worth going there at the moment, although they ship within the EU and the site is bound to improve.
It’s always a joy to find somewhere offering something different from what you can buy on the high street in any city, particularly as so many of the stores stock brands available everywhere. On your next trip to Paris pay a visit to this tiny Parisian accessory store.
