White House Black Market – Shop the USA

White House Black Market is one of those stores that has not yet made it across the pond as Banana Republic, Abercrombie and Victoria’s Secret have, however as they do ship to the UK and offer a high quality different take on modern classics than you can find elsewhere this store is well worth a look-see.

In Dallas currently and at the huge NorthPark shopping mall a couple of days ago (just to swap the younger son’s Polo hoodie for a different size, you understand) I decided to wander in to White House Black Market.  This is not a store I normally go to as my first encounter with the brand was  many years ago in Maryland, when there were two stores, one stocking everything white and ivory, and the other………go on, guess.

Now White House Black Market has combined sensibly into one store, offering dresses and separates from the very dressy to weekend casual.  Some of the clothes and accessories on offer are quite classic, but if you want something a little different and glamorous have a look and you can find some unique gems.  A little sexy low cut bandage dress with a zip right down the back, for example, a spring layer in the form of a sparkle knit open front waterfall cardigan, a banded colourblock sheath dress or a striped knit shift.  Take a look at the sale area as well as there are some excellent prices.

And if you’re on the lookout for something a little more dressy that no one else will be wearing then again, have a look here as well.

Most of the clothes have stretch in them, or are in fact made in a knit fabric, and the sizing runs true, so if you’re a size 10 in the UK you need to order a size 6 here, although check out the size chart first.  I would stay away from pants and jeans as they’re always harder to fit.  The dresses now………that’s a totally different story.
