Ten Favourite Leather Jackets - Product Reviews

Reiss Brown Biker JacketThe leather jacket is this season’s cardigan, and if you don’t own one now, this is the time to go hunting, as the best won’t be hanging around for very long.

The problem is never finding a leather jacket – they’re everywhere.  The problem is in finding one that has versatility written into the label.  That you can wear with jeans and a dress or skirt and boots, that fits you perfectly and suits your style and that doesn’t make you look as if you must have your Harley Davidson waiting around the corner.  Many of them do just that and particularly if you’re not a spring chicken that won’t be the look for you.

If you’re not already the owner of one of the newer, more fitted jackets then you can take a look at these.  Spend what you can here and be careful.

Pointers:

Unless you’re very slim avoid anything belted,
Many of the new jackets are very short or with quilting, both of which will make you look larger.
Some collarless jackets have a seam around the bust.  Steer clear of those too.
I don’t need to tell you that a pale colour will be difficult, although there are some gorgeous ones on offer.
Don’t buy a jacket with a shearling or fur collar that isn’t detachable unless you’re absolutely sure, this will limit its use.

Leather can be your best friend or your worst enemy.  Find a great leather jacket and you’ll wear it over and over again but don’t take risks and buy the best you can afford.  And if in doubt ask a friend.  You don’t want to end up looking a) like a biker or b) like the Michelin man, and leather will do both for you with ease.
