From Karen Millen to Vivienne Westwood Anglomania - New In–Why You Should Buy These Dresses Now

The temptation right now, particularly as yes it does look as if the sun is about to start shining for more than a nano second, is to rush out and shop the sales.  You can do that of course, there are some tremendous bargains around, as perpetual rain and less than normal temperatures have meant that far fewer than the normal numbers of sale hunters have been out there over the past month.

But….and it’s a big but……are you doing the right thing?  Is this instant gratification for a few weeks of wear?  Or would you be better to buy something that you can wear now, that you’ll want to keep for a long time, and that you can wear into the autumn without feeling it looks like something you should already have filed away for next summer?

Sale bargains can quite often be short term at the best of times, unless you buy an investment piece, or you’re lucky enough to find the designer dress is still there waiting in your size, rather than in a size 4 or size 16.  This is my pick of what’s just come in, still with a summery feel – lightweight, pretty, eminently wearable, but which you can cover with a jacket or wrap as the cooler months approach.
