How to Wear Prints - From Diane von Furstenberg and Desigual to Michael Michael Kors and Marella

Choosing the right print can be a minefield.  Prints can be over bright, frumpy, make you look wider than you are, shorter than you are, and some prints simply walk into the room ahead of you.  But fall in love with a print that really works for you and you’ll wear it over and over again and in many different ways.

A great print flatters your personality and makes you feel totally at home.  The colours have to be right for your colouring, and the size of the print also.  It’s no wonder we all end up with so many little black, red, navy and white dresses in our closets – they’re frequently so much easier to wear.

If you buy a classic print make sure that the length is not so ‘classic’ as to make the dress look frumpy (so easy) – in any case always make the effort to have your dresses and coats the right length for you, just a couple of inches too long can make you look older no matter how modern the print.

Why buying a statement coat or dress make sure your entrance is not just about what you’re wearing, and that you’re not swamped.

Finding great prints isn’t always easy, there are so many that end up on the sale rails (and on), but it’s well worth finding one to fall in love with.
