It’s all in the Print–20 of the brightest summer prints, from Matthew Williamson and Diane von Furstenberg to Oasis and Karen Millen.

Harrods colour print dress
Last week I was passing Zara at the top of Bond Street (as one does) and thought I’d have a quick browse.  I was instantly dazzled by a riot of colours, clashing colours, tunics, kaftans and dresses in cobalt with lime green, pink with fuchsia, red with shocking pink.  Forget colour blocking, this was all out South of France/Seychelles sunshine colour and no matter what went with what.  The message was clear, wear me if you dare, if you like to stand out, if you’ve had enough of dull dreary days and you’re ready to embrace the sun with bright red painted toenails, gold sandals and chunky stand-out jewels.

As it happened I was, but unfortunately I was in a hurry so I couldn’t dally there so I’ve been browsing online.  Any designer without a colour clashing bright in their arsenal right now is going to be losing out shortly as that’s where our eyes will be focused.  Keep your neutrals for cloudy days and the minute the sun comes out go for it – summer brights can only make you smile.

Some of these are more daytime wearable than others, and some you’d probably think would only work on the beach but as this is the summer of colour have another think and brighten the atmosphere wherever you are.

These are a mixture of full on designer and high street labels.  Can you tell the difference?  In many cases it’s pretty well impossible.  Balance a high street look luxurious looking accessories and make them all wonder……..
