Seeing Red–The Rise and Rise of the Little Red Dress by Roland Mouret, Michael Kors, Max Mara, Reiss and more - Updated

Along with the little black dress, every girl needs to have at least one little red dress waiting to be brought out of the wardrobe.  These, by Roland Mouret, Elizabeth and James, Diane von Furstenberg, Michael Kors and Reiss are representative of the fact that pretty well all the collections, from designer to high street, are offering a red dress this season.  This is the season of colour, after all.

Not all reds work with all skin tones, some have a great deal of blue in them, other stray towards orange, but a seriously good mid red will suit just about everyone and girls…..if you want to make an entrance, this is the colour you should be wearing.  Red is hot this summer.

Some of the dresses above will take you from daytime to night with just a change of accessories, others, particularly the Sugarhill Boutique dress are just waiting to be packed and taken off to the South of France, and the Coast full length full-on red gown?  Quite simply totally red carpet worthy.  No hiding your lights behind any bushels in these dresses.  Stick to black if you lose your nerve.  Far far safer but far less fun, don’t you agree?
Selfridges is Site of the Week at  In the Last Chance Sale there are some wonderful bargains including designer jeans by Paige Premium Denim and Diesel, dresses by Karen Millen, Ted Baker, Sandro, Diane von Furstenberg and more and loads of other irresistible discounted 'must-have's' to get you through the summer season.  Click through to Site of the Week and take a look.

This is the time, of course, when there are some incredible discounts to be found and it's all far too tempting.  The joy of buying from the sales online is that you can see everything very clearly, rather than jumbled up on the rails, and see immediately if what you've fallen in love with is available in your size.  The problem is that the temptation is all too great.  At least you can send it back.............
