Along with handbags, shoes (and diamonds of course – only joking) I am a collector par excellence of the LBD. It has been pointed out to me, several times by my daughter (and others), that I do have quite a lot, however can a girl have too many? Personally I think not, as long as they’re all just that little bit different; you know what I mean, a hint of lace here, a bead there, a ruffle here, a drape there, and with each season bringing new tempting treats to try on and try and resist inevitably the collection grows.
The online hunt for the LBD has this year become so much easier, with stores such as House of Fraser and Selfridges offering brands Ted Baker, Coast, Twenty8Twelve and Marc by Marc Jacobs so that you can browse them all in one place and compare them all together. Or you can just click through directly to Karen Millen, Diane von Furstenberg and that little D & G number you spotted earlier at Netaporter while taking a break from the every day and order in a flash. And the pictures are so much clearer as well now too which only increases the temptation.
The new Little Black Dress feature is now up at www.thesiteguide.com, which caused me quite a number of problems while putting it together I will admit, although I haven’t actually ‘gone there’ yet, and here are just a few to give you a taster of what you’ll find.
I’m always saying this at Christmas I know but I have to say it again – see it – love it – buy it. Wait and it’ll be gone.
